Okay, so... technically this is more like an episode of Pretty Little Screamers where we theorise about what's going to happen when the inevitable Scream VII AKA sixth sequel comes along, but we promise there is some discussion of Scream VI ...somewhere in this podcast. Granted, we do spend an extraordinarily long time debating our own rankings and fighting to the bloody death about who (*cough* Tom McNab *cough*) is right, and who (*cough* Ben Tahija *cough*) is wrong when it comes to where Scream 2 deserves to be ranked. Thankfully, Chelsea White is here to keep us all level headed, setting the record straight and letting it be known that in the year of our lord and saviour, Beyonce, 2023, there is absolutely no goddamn way these teenagers are listening to "Blow The Whistle" at a college fraternity party!? Whatever, Alicia, let's get our murder on. It's a Scream, baby. I'll be right back! |

Ol' Saint Nicky isn't the only one dashing through in white and red today, as a bloodstained Ghostface is BACK to terrorise your Winter! Our Pretty Little Screamers, Tom McNab and Chelsea White, have assembled to watch the teaser trailer for Scream VI and share with you all of their immediate thoughts, reactions, and theories - trust that they STU over every possible detail from the franchise and won't leave you JILL-ted when it comes to speculating whose ROMAN around New York!!! |

They Night They Came Home. But it's day time and only one of them is at home and, ya know what, this reference works as well here as it does in this show. Anyway, Melissa & Ben are back to discuss the first five episodes of season one (aka what is sure to be the only season) of PLL's latest incarnation, Original Sin! We've watched five hours of this show so find out with us if we can name the main characters! We can name a bukake of movie references contained in this show, at least. We also reminisce about OG PLL and how much we have wiped from our minds about it, except a certain man and his Ghost Jeep. The first person to be a guest on our show and just overall spectacular human being April Richardson needs a helping hand right now, as we all do from time to time, so please show her some kindness: https://ko-fi.com/aprilrichardson/ |

It's summer, so you know what that means - we're getting in Shape! The Shape, to be more specific, as a new Halloween trailer was released. When we say this is a teaser trailer, we really mean it, they're edging us good! So we spend most of the time talking about our thoughts on Halloween Kills (spoilers, duh), before leaving you with a little "treAt" for what's in store next time on Pretty Little Podcasters. |
Mon, 25 July 2022
It's been an honour! Like the ghost of Billy Loomis, Ben has reappeared in our lives and on the pod! Along with Chelsea White and Tom McNab, they discuss all the minutia of Scream 5 AKA Scream 2022 AKA 5cream (we're talking mondo spoilers, bonehead)! What exactly is the backstory with Tara and Sam's mother? How do you pronounce Babadook? And going forward in the franchise, can we please just normalise Ghostface having boobs, 'kay?! |
Mon, 18 April 2022
Scream fans had to wait 11 years for a new entry, you should all be thankful we only made you wait 11 weeks! Do you want to hear what we were doing during that time? Definitely, somehow, watching all 7 Stab movies (we enjoy the one with Lucy Hale)! Do you want to hear Chelsea's dark secret in regards to opening night way back in April 2011? Do you want to hear all about Tom's pitch for a 2007 remake of Scream that would have OBVIOUSLY been a huge success and spawned its very own sequel?! We ask how, in spite of everything, Scream 4 is still two very enthusiastic thumbs up, fine holiday fun (whatever, Alicia). |
Thu, 27 January 2022
It occurred to us that in our Scream 2 episode we completely overlooked the Joshua Jackson cameo, so to ensure nothing like that ever happened again we went super in-depth on every detail of Scream 3. The concluding chapter of the trilogy, the first film of the new millennium, and with it came the introduction of Ghostface using the highest of modern technology! No, not the voice changer, Ghostface uses a FAX MACHINE! Safe to say we leave no facet of Scream 3 untouched (duh, you can see it's almost 200 minutes long), and we even have time to bring up Jessica Alba, Christina Aguilera and Kate Bush! But, most important of all, finally three films in, we ask ourselves... what exactly is a "cloned cellular"?

Thu, 6 January 2022
This episode runs the gamut as it finds our Pretty Little Screamers accusing a nurse of trying to kill them because they thought she looked like the killer and pondering a prequel that's actually a romantic comedy wherein the killers are running around trying to play matchmaker by setting up Omar Epps and Jada Pinkett and lavishing them with free gifts of Tori Spelling movie tickets! We also hypothesize whether or not Diane Sawyer would do our girl Sidney dirty, much like she did to Britney Spears. And most important of all, we recast the Scream franchise with characters from Pretty Little Liars! |
Thu, 23 December 2021
Do you like scary podcasts? Okay, it isn't really scary but you see what I was doing. Starting with this episode, Tom McNab (aka our pal and yours, British Tom) takes over hosting duties with herself Chelsea White (of Cabernet & A fame) as his awesome and wonderful co-host to cover all the Scream movies in a limited series called, naturally, Pretty Little Screamers! This week Tom and Chelsea sink their cleaver into the first movie and even bring you never before heard (yeah, we got exclusives, baby!) clips from Matthew Lillard, the voice of Ghostface Roger Jackson and, via some manner of time travel I've yet to wrap my head around, 14 year old Tom McNab. Truly unsure why you're still reading the description and not already listening to the episode. Get on with it! |
Sun, 31 October 2021
Do you like scary movies? We knew you did and do we have something fun planned for you! On this special Halloween episode, Ben and British Tom break down the Scream 5 trailer with none other than Chelsea White! British Tom and Chelsea will be taking over the feed to delightfully and meticulously cover all of the Scream movies culminating with the newest movie, Scream (aka Scream 5) that drops in January.

Like Michael Myers after having both his eyes shot out and being set on fire, Tom and Ben are back! Is that too dark? We are here to break down the new Halloween Kills trailer so that is the vibe anyway. |
Thu, 23 January 2020
Ben took a jaunt to the UK and got to meet British Tom! Naturally, we had to immortalize the moment in podcast form. |
Thu, 21 March 2019
Melissa and Ben are back in the Dollhouse to discuss the pilot episode of The Perfectionists! How do the new Liars stack up? Is Mona just James Bond now? Has Mona ever seen, let alone cut, a pie before? How does a TA-ship actually work? Where can I download that cello cover of Poker Face? So many questions! And will Melissa and Ben be drug in enough to watch episode two? Listen to find out! |
Wed, 31 October 2018
Tom & Ben discuss the seminal (what does that word mean, by the way?) horror classic from John Carpenter! Tom even reads from his essays about the movie. Yeah, pural. EssayS. He is a true Halloween fan if his love of Tina didn't already tip you off. |
Tue, 30 October 2018
Alright, y'all, reset your timelines because we are having a spoiler-filled discussion about the newest Halloween. So snuggle up in your panic room and hit play! |
Mon, 29 October 2018
MORE of the night Tom and Ben disagreed about a movie called Halloween 2. We are both, however, pleased to discuss the first and only movie in the franchise with some much needed male nudity. Thanks, Bud. |
Mon, 24 September 2018
This movie is basically the meet-cute between Loomis and Jamie. You know, before he spends the entirety of part 5 mentally destroying her. We also discuss the franchise timeline (it all adds up perfectly, don't worry), who is Jamie's father, why/how Jamie has a picture of her murderous uncle, just all the essentials. |
Mon, 17 September 2018
Is Tina one of the deepest and richest characters in the entire franchise? That's a legit discussion that happens on this episode. |
Mon, 10 September 2018
Words like "bonkers" and "lunacy" are thrown around a lot in this episode because there are just few other adjectives that so appropriately describe this movie. A movie that made Michael Myers the bumbling sidekick in his own franchise. And that is before we even get to the Producer's Cut and it gets all power-of-the-runes on us. We had great green gobs of fun talking about this movie and hope you all enjoy it, too! |
Mon, 3 September 2018
Halloween: Resurrection took a lot out of us but we are professionals so we're back! This one movie contains so much iconography from the franchise and also oodles of references to the preceding movies and other horror franchises. There is much to discuss so don't lose your head (see what I did there?), just hit play and join us! |
Mon, 16 July 2018
The reception this film got led to the studio completely rebooting the franchise. Is it really that bad?! Yes. Yes, it is. A thousand times yes. But Tom & Ben still go in with open minds and warm hearts to break down Halloween: Resurrection! |
Sat, 14 July 2018
Melissa is back in the podcasting dollhouse with Ben to talk some teens! That sounds weird but we explain it in the episode. It is still weird once you hear it explained. Fair warning. On the premiere outing of the Scary Summer Scream Fest we are covering the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street! |
Mon, 2 July 2018
Rob Zombie's take on Halloween was a box office smash hit (it still holds the record for biggest Labor Day opening in the US of A) but fans are still split on this half origin story / half remake. Ben and Tom break it all down and split on which half of the movie they prefer. We want to hear your thoughts (even if you're wrong and think Scout Taylor Compton is a good Laurie Strode) so let us hear em: Twitter: @PrettyLittlePod Insta: @prettylittlepod |
Mon, 18 June 2018
The first episode of our Halloween retrospective has finally arrived! Tom and Ben are covering what could easily be the most controversial flick of the entire franchise, Rob Zombie's Halloween 2 (or as the cool kids call it, H2). RIP to the wonderful Margot Kidder who passed away after this episode was recorded. We want to hear your thoughts (even if you're wrong and hate Halloween 2) so let us hear em: Twitter: @PrettyLittlePod Insta: @prettylittlepod |
Sun, 10 June 2018
Join Ben and Tom as they do a deep dive retrospective on all the Halloween movies from Rob Zombie's remake to the 1978 classic that started it all. This limited series will then conclude with a weekend of release review of the brand new Halloween! On today's episode, we tell you what prompted all this and we react to the recently released first trailer for Halloween! If you've never seen a Halloween movie, now's the time to jump on board! Think of them like PLL: it started off really well, got pretty murky in the middle, the stuff fans didn't like got retconned out of existence, the timeline's a complete mess only this time the killer is actually pretty adept at killing teenagers. |
Tue, 15 August 2017
PLL is over. |
Thu, 18 May 2017
We are back to mourn yet another black person that has been claimed by the racist soul of Rosewood. RIP Yvonne #NeverForget Oh, and Ali is pregnant with Emily's baby probably. Yeah. You heard me. |
Wed, 10 May 2017
Ben and Marissa have escaped from the Dollhouse long enough to discuss the first two episodes of 7B! We then free Melissa just long enough for some wedding speculation. We'll see you again soon to get caught up on the season thus far... we hope... |
Mon, 5 December 2016
In this simulcast with Yas Queen: The Podcast, Ben is joined by his buddy Ash to break down King Cobra! This movie stars Keegan Allen and I am happy to report we are definitely not Palo Alto'd. He and his abs and his buttocks are ALL prominently featured in this movie. |
Tue, 29 November 2016
Guys, Ben's super punchy and he may be watching this season as a modern retelling of The Shining and Katie is playing the Jack Nicholson role. I guess that makes Schwartz the Shelley Duvall? Yeah, that actually makes sense. |
Wed, 23 November 2016
Katie is still a mean girl and James is still killin it on the DJ front. |

Pretty Little Podcasters presents... Vanderpump Fools! Welcome back to our Vanderpump Rules featurette! Today we discuss the ongoing fallout of MuffinGate, the cultural ignorance of Lisa Vanderpump and why Kristin should totally visit Yulin, China. Please forgive the ambient noises, we will record inside of doors next time, I promise. Have any thoughts you want to share? Let's Vander-hear them! Pretty Little Podcasters presents... Vanderpump Fools: a Vanderpump Rules Podcast Featurette! Did you ever wonder what would happen if the worst inhabitants of Rosewood moved to Los Angeles and worked at a Real Housewife's restaurant? Okay, that's a thin connection to PLL, we admit that. But you're legit not gonna find a better way to get through this long hiatus than watching a reality show that features a young lady from Kentucky get berated by her scumbag boyfriend into getting a double-D boob job. Is that any worse that what Ezra's done? You be the judge. Also, to the listener who came up with the great idea for the name Vanderpump Fools, thank you! Remind us who you are and we will give you full credit :) |
Fri, 2 September 2016
A lot happened in the final mid-season finale of PLL. Did all of it make sense? Well,no. Did even most of it make sense? No, not really. We break down every ship and every death (there was only one, at most btw) and we spend a lot of time defending Noel and Jenna. And even more time discussing the looped conversation about Ramen that was pivotal to this episode for some reason. |
Thu, 25 August 2016
Paige is creepin again, Emily is worthless again (read: still), Aria is relieved some poor Australian girl is still dead, Noel is still looking super hot, that is, until Hanna caves in his skull with a metal pipe. It almost sounds like this was an eventful episode, doesn't it? |
Fri, 19 August 2016
We talk about the welcome return of Grunwald and the supernatural element of the show, Noel's deadly hotness and Aria's scene stealing. We read some great listener tweets and theories. And on-air we deal with literally having seen a man die fifteen minutes before we started recording. |
Thu, 11 August 2016
Yeah, not a typo, that is the actual title of this episode of PLL. It should give you an idea of what we're in for. In this episode Ben & Melissa discuss how car alarms work since no one on the set or in the writer's room at PLL seems to have the foggiest idea and the movie The Notebook comes up a lot. Like, a lot. |
Fri, 5 August 2016
After an absolutely unnecessary one week hiatus, PLL is back and so are we! It is another experimental episode of the podcast. All three of your hosts are here this week, just not all together at any point. Listen and it will make sense. Hope you guys enjoy it! |
Thu, 21 July 2016
This episode may as well have just been called "Just look how damn good Noel Kahn looks now, you guys." |
Thu, 14 July 2016
Marissa is back from the near-dead! And, as it happens, Jenna and Mona are, too! The appearance of these old familiar faces lead to some fun reminiscing about the history of PLL until one of our chairs tries to kill us. |
Fri, 8 July 2016
After two lackluster episodes, season seven comes roaring to life! In fact, the appearance of an Amish girl with dolls of the PLLs is only like the fourth most interesting part of the episode! |
Thu, 30 June 2016
What were the three highlights of this episode of Pretty Little Liars? Glad you asked. They were: 1. Hanna's boobs, 2. Ali's wet neck and 3. infant mortality. |
Wed, 22 June 2016
PLL is back! And the liars have 24 hours to save Hanna! We see that some of the girls spend their time tending to their sexual desires as opposed to trying to rescue their friend but whatever. Does the premiere improve upon the lackluster end to last season? Listen and find out! Be a pal and subscribe and leave us a good review on iTunes! |
Thu, 26 May 2016
How bad is the teaser poster for season seven? Well, we saw it while at work and fled to an empty office to immediately discuss it and we thought we'd record it, too, so you all can join in the discussion. If you haven't seen this monstrosity yet, head over to our twitter @PrettyLittlePod and check it out. |
Mon, 11 April 2016
Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner's Daredevil is criminally underrated. And we're gonna prove it! If you like The Cinematic Defenders Podcast be sure to subscribe in iTunes! |
Wed, 16 March 2016
There's a kind of hush all over the world tonight... |
Thu, 10 March 2016
You guys, things went wrong trying to get this episode to you. So many things. |
Thu, 3 March 2016
This week's episode of Pretty Little Liars was definitely a step up from the last three, but was it enough to break this PLL slump? You'll have to listen to find out! |
Thu, 25 February 2016
Hello Pretty Little Podcasters Listeners! Ben here! I just wanted to introduce you to my new podcast called The Cinematic Defenders! On it, I (along with different special guests each episode) come to the defense of movies that have a bad wrap. We come at these movies with fresh eyes and optimistic hearts! On the premiere episode we are watching Man of Steel and I am overjoyed to have the wonderful Mike Schmidt and our very own Marissa (who was a Superman movie virgin before this podcast) as my premiere guests! I really hope you guys enjoy it and if you do, I would be overjoyed if you subscribed! You can find the show on iTunes. You can also subscribe directly via the RSS feed at http://cinematicdefenders.libsyn.com/rss. |

It is a fantastical crossover event with Sue Funke and Chelsea White of CAbernet And A! It is the perfect episode to have Chelsea and Sue here, too, since this was yet another filler episode that was lined wall to wall with boring white dudes from muppet-voiced Liam to Melba Toast Rollins (to quote Chelsea). So, we might go off the rails a time or two but that's how you like it anyway, don't lie. |
Thu, 18 February 2016
So little happens in this episode we resort to #FunHerpesFacts again. Wish we were kidding. We were just inundated with super boring white guys like Liam and Dr. Rollins that are so clearly just placeholders we don't need to care about which is great because we definitely don't. At least we get some Mona and some Tanner to breath life into this episode! Also, don't forget to visit the PrettyLittlePod shop to help support the show! |
Thu, 11 February 2016
Fair warning, Melissa & Ben were super punchy during this episode. It has been a really long week, you guys. But, luckily, not much happened in this episode so it's cool. M & B do, however, spend an inordinate amount of time convincing themselves that Sara Harvey (aka Sharvey) does indeed think she is in actuality a robot. Be sure to stop by the PrettyLittlePod Shoppe for cool PLP merch! |
Wed, 3 February 2016
We're still all fully on board with Spaleb, right? Seeing Toby only cements that, doesn't it? Even though we LOVE his new girlfriend! I mean, she's a person of color so she is not long for this world if she stays in Rosewood but we still love her. We talk about all that and how all the white dudes in Rosewood all play golf, apparently. Be sure to check out the Pretty Little Pod Shoppe! It is a great way to help the show and get some great merch in return! |
Thu, 28 January 2016
Angry Ezra is our favorite Ezra but we still definitely don't want to read a book written by Ezria. Emily is bad at keeping her secret and Hanna and Lucas are terrible liars. It may not sound like it, but this was a pretty great episode! Be sure to visit our PrettyLittlePod shop on Redbubble! Or do feel free to donate to help us keep up with podcast hosting fees and Marissa's spiraling pill habit. |
Fri, 22 January 2016
Spaleb? Cancer? Handan? Janna? So many new ship possibilities yet still so much reminding us of the past. Why are all the girls dealing in secrets again? Well, except for Spencer who is telling anyone that will listen about a paper she wrote in college. As if every episode of Murder, She Wrote doesn't tell the same story, Spence. |
Wed, 13 January 2016
After the longest hiatus in recorded history, PLL is back! And for this special 5 Years Forward premiere episode we are simply over the moon to have Molly McAleer join us in the dollhouse (what if we called our "podcast studio" the dollhouse? I think we will)! Who has grown the most? Whose fashion is the best? Who is the new murderer in town? Will Emily ever get a storyline we care about? So many questions!! |
Sat, 7 November 2015
We are beyond elated to have Chelsea White and Sue Funke back on the show! You know them as the hosts of the fabulous CAbernet And A podcast! They join us to break down Scream 4 which stars (for two whole minutes) PLL's own Lucy Hale! Listen, we know Halloween was last week but we aren't going to let The Man tell us when we can or cannot watch a scary movie. Got it? Plus, any excuse to discuss Scream and horror movies in general with Sue and Chelsea is fine by us. |
Sun, 25 October 2015
You guys, this episode is truly, truly, truly outrageous. Ashton from Skeet Skeet: The Noah's Arc Podcast joins Ben for a super-special-in-theaters-now-podcast-crossover edition of the PLP Movie Club! Ben has been waiting since he was seven for a Jem movie. Was it worth the wait? Guess you'll have to listen to find out. It has Karate Jake wearing nothing but a towel so it's got that much working in its favor at the very least. |
Mon, 19 October 2015
The PLP Movie Club is back with the perfect movie to kick off the Halloween season: John Carpenter's They Live! If anyone counts how many different ways Melissa mispronounces Rowdy Roddy Piper's name, they will get a special prize! |
Tue, 13 October 2015
The first four minutes of season 6B have been released and we are busting to talk about it! That is why we could not be more thrilled to be joined by Marco Sparks and Benjamin Light of the Bros Watch PLL Too podcast! Together we dig down into the burning questions: what the hell is with that horrendous green screen? What has gone so wrong in Emily's life? Radley Sanitarium is now a hotel... called The Radley?! Seriously, what the hell is that green screen? What's your take on the sneak peak? Be sure to share it with us on Twitter @PrettyLittlePod! |
Fri, 9 October 2015
What TV should we all be watching while we anxiously await PLL's return? Just so you know, we set out to do a 20 minute mini-sode about it so you should not be surprised that it turned into almost two hours. And we do sneak in some PLL talk since the news and teaser pics from the new intro dropped today! Be sure to share your thoughts on what shows we should all be watching during this loooooong PLL hiatus. What did we miss? What did we pre-judge wrong and should actually watch? How much do you love The Muppets? You can get at us on Twitter @PrettyLittlePod! Come on back next time when the PLP Movie Club resumes with the cult classic: John Carpenter's They Live! |
Wed, 12 August 2015
You guys. Seriously. The Summer of Answers is no joke. Granted, we got all the answers in the span of 42 minutes but, damnit, we still got 'em! Your humble hosts break down each answer and, since this is Pretty Little Liars, each new question thrown out by this gonzo bonkers episode. Let's dig in! Did you love the reveal? Did you not? Let us hear it on Twitter @PrettyLittlePod. Be the Emily to our [Insert Name of Crazy Lesbian Here] and leave us a good review in iTunes, won't you? |
Thu, 6 August 2015
NOTE: PLL talk starts at minute 42! Now, last week we asked for prom stories and you guys did not disappoint! We start off by reading the most enthralling listener prom tales. You guys just need to hear to believe. Ben's prom actually wasn't too bad as it turns out. And it is great that there were prom tales to share because this episode of Pretty Little Liars was almost wall to wall filler! Well, except for the Real Housewives of Rosewood. We could've watched an entire hour of that and been more than happy. Cuz the #PLLProm was, let's face it, a real snoozer. Meanwhile, awesome listener @zipper_pull HAND STITCHED a fantastic PLL pillow and wants to give it away to one of our dear listeners! All the details are contained within so listen up! |
Wed, 29 July 2015
Well, it was another Pretty Little Liars filler episode as we kill time before a giant big ol' reveal. We got some more Clark (never a bad thing), met a sexy new "Faux-Laurentis" called Rhys and Ali completely f**ks over Lorenzo. He should have seen that coming, this one's on him. He was warned. By literally everyone. Meanwhile, we could not more be looking forward to next week's super fancy PLL prom! So, Marissa and Ben chat about the difference between a Los Angeles, California prom and a Butte, Montana prom. Turns out the differences are everything. Also, be sure to check out our other podcast Murder, We Spoke this week because not only did we get in some great PLL talk but we had an AMAZING guest, Molly McAleer! |
Wed, 22 July 2015
Alright guys, your letter writing campaign has finally paid off and the PLL podcast crossover event you've been demanding has arrived! The insanely wonderful hosts of CAbernet And A are our guests (or actually we are their guests, technically)! And even though half the episode was Emily and Sara's awkward non-romantic romance it still gave us a lot to talk about. You want an example? How about Mike's horrific bleached, torn and bedazzled denim shirt that he stole off the set of Nashville? Yeah, we dig down deep into the most important Pretty Little Liars issues of the day. And once you listen to the episode you are going to want to follow the amazing and hilarious Chelsea White (@TheChelseaWhite) and Sue Funke (@TheSueFunke) on Twitter because, in case we haven't mentioned it, they're fantastic. |
Thu, 16 July 2015
Lesli can afford a Range Rover. She's a mentally unstable TA and she's driving a brand new Range Rover. I take the bus. F**k her. Meanwhile, Mrs. Marin facilitates a good deep dickin' for her daughter. |
Fri, 10 July 2015
This was such an amazing episode of Pretty Little Liars! I am not going to lie, your hosts were like cats chasing laser pointers and really just went all over the place. It is a real stream of consciousness podcast so buckle in. I mean, Ali is kissing Lorenzo, Weak Link Emily in full force, Mean Dean is back, A has boobies, Hanna has never looked better, where's Ezra, do the writers even know how weed works at all... Whew, as you can see there is much to discuss. Meanwhile, the first full 20 minutes may be TV talk unrelated to PLL. You know how we get. And be a pal and leave us a kind review on iTunes as that is all it takes to help spread the word and get the podcast to grow so we can talk PLL with everyone! You can also get at us on Twitter @PrettyLittlePod or email us through our website PrettyLittlePodcasters.com because we want to hear all of your crazy and demented theories! |
Thu, 25 June 2015
This was a great episode of Pretty Little Liars! And you know this is an important episode because there is a Chad Lowe budget. That's right, Aria's dad is back from weekend college to help his daughter through her PTS. We learn so much about Charles and some of it may even be true! Plus, Caleb. He just gets his awesomeness all over everything as per usual. To kick off the episode, M & B discuss their very first one star review from iTunes. Melissa may have taken it a little personally, you guys. Meanwhile, we naturally have to take a moment to discuss the cancellation of our Side Piece Show, Hannibal. It is a sad day, Fannibals. If you're getting caught up (Ashton), there are very minor Hannibal spoilers. |
Thu, 18 June 2015
You've heard us read his theories on almost every episode and now he is finally on the show! Ladies and gentlemen, we have the utterly delightful and insightful Tom Mcnab as our super special guest! He brings the genius theories and pretty much schools your humble hosts with his PLL knowledge. And that's a good thing because Dr. Sullivan is back, Sara Harvey is getting close to Weak Link Emily, Junkie Spencer is about to make a comeback and we need Tom's Brain more than ever! Meanwhile, we learn that blue is not Spencer's color (like, at all) and why the stylists on this show hate Ali. |
Wed, 10 June 2015
Somebody turn on a light because Pretty Little Liars is getting dark! And by dark we mean an entire episode devoted to the Liars dealing with Post Traumatic Stress and lots (and lots) of rape allusions. But luckily the girls have their parents to walk behind them and whine that they aren't getting over things quick enough. All the moms are here and are all, pretty much, monsters to their traumatized children. This may be a brutal episode but at least Melissa ends the podcast with an uplifting song that may or may not involve Nazis. Meanwhile, Rosewood PD has instituted the "Fresh Perspectives" program and race relations in Rosewood take two steps forward and one giant step back. |
Wed, 3 June 2015
Remember how bonkers the season finale of season five was? Season six picks up right where it left off and does not miss a beat! Your intrepid hosts are here to break down the madness. The girls are still in The Dollhouse and Charles' plan is really coming together. We have some AMAZING listener theories to share. Seriously, you guys brought it. So what are you still reading this for? Hit play and let's get back into The Dollhouse! Meanwhile, Toby calls Spencer "babe" and it is somehow the creepiest thing in an episode filled with rape allusions and Ezra's pedophile beard. |
Wed, 13 May 2015
How much is there to talk about in this movie? Well, the first hour of this podcast covers, no joke, only the fist fifteen minutes. I just don't even know what else to say. Just don't listen to this episode all at once. This is meant to be digested in manageable chunks. Meanwhile, we take a quick break in the middle to discuss women in film using Avengers: Age of Ultron as a jumping off point. Then it is right back into the family drama/horror movie/rom-com that is The Boy Next Door! |
Wed, 29 April 2015
Bad Italian accents? Nay, offensive Italian accents? Endless montages of scootering across Rome? Brilliant children and moronic adults? Syrupy sweet pop music? Yes, yes, yes, yes and yes. This all adds up to a Disney tween movie. Join us as we discover the glory that is The Lizzie Mcguire Movie! M & M have seen it before (multiple times). B is being introduced to it for the very first time. So, however you are approaching this movie we have you covered! |

The whole gang (M & M & B) is here! We enter the Dollhouse and, frankly, we never want to leave! The Dollhouse is so much better than prison. We get to decorate for a creepy opera prom, watch old home movies, have access to all the Twinkies we can eat (even though there is no where to go the bathroom), wear fancy dresses (obvs) and, most fun, we learn how to make an EMP! Meanwhile, Toby handles a weapon for the first time and the Hastings parents are back and lawyering all over the place! |
Wed, 18 March 2015
The penultimate episode of season five of Pretty Little Liars is here and there is no shortage of things to talk about! Such as Perd Hapley! Tether ball! Ali's verdict! Archery! Grapefruits! Bob Durst! OJ! And other trials that were based in the real world! Meanwhile, we read some awesome listener theories and get in a nice preview of next week's season finale. We cannot wait to get into The Dollhouse! You can send us your theories from the sane to the hail marys (ALL of our contact info is at PrettyLittlePodcasters.com). And please take a moment to leave us a good review on iTunes. We would appreciate that as much as Ali would appreciate a competant defense attorney! |
Sun, 15 March 2015
The melody lingers on? Ali's f&#@ing trial lingers on! This may be the shortest murder trial of all time but still feels like its dragging! We therefore talk about the cavalcade of legal inaccuracies that permeate the air. We also chat about how effortlessly Caleb slipped in to the group in Hanna's absence. Uh, we love Caleb. Don't you love Caleb? Aria is also oddly on point this episode. Basically, PLL is killing time until the alleged #BigAReveal in the season finale so we inevitably end up talking about Sons of Anarchy. We can't help it. Meanwhile, we have some more great listener theories to end the show on! If you have a theory (the crazier the better!) don't be shy! Let us hear it: @PrettyLittlePod on twitter or a number of other ways you can find at our website PrettyLittlePodcasters.com! Take a hot second and leave us a good review on iTunes, too! |
Mon, 9 March 2015
This week your hosts become legal analysts worthy of the best deep cable crime show. We break down Ali's case piece by piece and quickly discover that the evidence against her is thinner than an Olsen twin. Meanwhile, Ezria is thwarted by a fence then breaks up, Spencer whores it up across two continents, Hanna tries to come clean to Tanner and Emily probably does something, too. |
Sun, 1 March 2015
'Allo Guv! Spencer goes to Oxford (which is the same thing as London I'm sure of it), Aria and Hanna think carjacking is synonomous with being set on fire and Emily isn't a good dancer. Her hair is, she isn't. Meanwhile, your hosts attempt and English accent. The result? A pretty decent Australian accent. |
Thu, 19 February 2015
This may be the greatest episode of television. Period. And it is serendipity that it was so dance heavy and we have the one and only Amber Kenny here to help us break it down! We meet B's favorite new character, Talia's husband. We learn what Mike has been up to and it involves longingly staring at vials of blood. Oh, and Hanna betrays all of her emotions (aka anger) in the greatest dance you will see this side of a Step Up movie! Meanwhile, we talk about why Toby is one hundo percent in the right and Spencer is being a total @$$hole. |
Wed, 18 February 2015
Mike is shirtless. Shirtless Mike. Everyone stay calm! Meanwhile, Mathlete Andrew is pretty hot, also. |
Tue, 10 February 2015
Oh, don't worry, your insightful hosts talk about how truly horrific this episode title is. We cover it in depth. This is a busy episode. We try to help Lesli and Jonny find the missing letters from their names. We try to help Emily decipher Talia's mixed signals (that are not at all mixed) and ehlp Ezra's new business avoid a sexual harrassment suit all at the same time. Meanwhile, we are basically just killing time until next week's episode as we have been promised an angry, shirtless, weight-lifting Mike. |
Sun, 8 February 2015
Hanna is in danger and the PLL gang concoct a plan to save her that is so complicated we don't even attempt to understand it. But, your intrepid hosts do talk about Ashley and Jason a lot. And how much Caleb adds to every single scene he is in and how Toby detracts. We also talk about Weak Link Emily's weakest linkiest moment to date. And that's saying something! Meanwhile, Ali wasn't in this episode and we couldn't be happier about that. |
Sun, 1 February 2015
In the episode of PLL we are watched today Cancer (Caleb & Spencer) were detectiving again. They find a wealth of evidence that A has gathered from Mona's murder that can be used against them. And a barrel. They focus pretty much entirely on the barrel. Plus Ashley gets a peanut butter cookie proposal. And to get through it all we have awesome, wonderful and hilarious guest Ervin Ross (Comedy Bang! Bang!, The Mindy Project, Parks and Recreation)! He even drops some PLL theories on us that, for someone's first viewing, are remarkably on point. Meanwhile, we ponder Jonny's upbringing due to his proclivity towards diggin through stranger's trash bins. |
Tue, 27 January 2015
I honestly don't know where to start. Officer Toby is ignoring evidence, the school has a kiln room that Spencer and Caleb think is going to EVAPORATE METAL and Jonny is moving into the guest house. You guys, PLL is on point. Meanwhile, top chef Emily makes a recipe that for some reason involves coring grapes. This ep is gangbusters so hit play and let's do this! |
Wed, 21 January 2015
We are back with a vengeance to cover the winter premiere of PLL with our longest episode to date! Why so long? We had the sheer pleasure of being joined by our most involved and engaged guest ever, Julia WD Harrison! She did her homework and watched a lot of PLL before she came in. So we get some awesome retro season one talk in. We also talk about the winter premiere so have no fears. We ponder the "A" fireworks, welcome Ali to the clink and get into why someone would wear leis to a funeral. Meanwhile, Julia leads us to analyze PLL on a deeper level and we really fall into a wormhole of tv comparisons and the psychology of the show. No, seriously. It's falcon amazing! |

Merry Ho Ho to one and all! Pretty Little Liars is back from the longest hiatus of all times! And it is the long awaited Christmas episode! We go to the Ice Ball, snoop around Ali's hat boxes (because apparently they did not stop making hat boxes in the 50s), learn Mona had a lawyer on retainer and watch lesbian PDA at an old folks home. Meanwhile, seven teenagers and their English teacher have an implied Christmas orgy. Don't forget to head over to iTunes to leave us a glowing review! As your Christmas present to us? Haven't we been good this year? |
Sun, 16 November 2014
The PLL hiatus continues. But we are not gonna let that get us down because it means we get to do another PLP Retro ep! We have been wanting to break down the Adam Lambert Halloween episode forever so we finally do it! Who cares if Halloween is over? Time is relative, man. And special eps mean special guests! Our guest is just one of the best stand-ups working today. Period. Okay, well, not period because we want to brag on her some more. She has her own phenomenal podcast, worked for The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and did we mention she's just plain f***ing hilarious? She is Kira Soltaonovich! Seriously, you guys, your humble hosts M & B come off as awkward pause machines because we just cannot keep up with the rapid-fire wit of Kira. She's awesome. We simply could not ask for a better guest to have for the episode where Adam Lambert flirts with Arararara (that will make sense when you listen to the podcast so get to it!). Also, please be a buddy and drop by and rate us (positively) on iTunes.

Does this Pretty Little Liars hiatus feel longer than others? It does to us. But that is totally okay because we get to do another PLP Retro! Today we a going all the way back to season one to revisit the infamous glamping episode (season one, episode ten). You think you remember this episode but you don't. Well, at least we really didn't. We straight up forgot most of it actually. We were also fairly punchy to be honest. If you haven't relived an early PLL episode in a while then this is a great time to do it. Meanwhile, Ms. Marin steals from old ladies all the while passing out hundred dollar bills to her kid! |
Tue, 21 October 2014
Pretty Little Liars is still on hiatus so that gives us a chance to go back and revisit some our favorite episodes from past seasons. It is October so, naturally, we are going to cover a Halloween episode. In fact, we are covering the first Halloween episode inexplicably called "The First Secret" (episode 13 from season 2). And what fun is a PLL Halloween ep if we don't share it with someone? We invited Pamela Murphy to come watch her first episode of PLL with us! She has been on The Hotwives of Orlando, she is a mainstay at the UCB Theater, been on epic episodes of Comedy Bang! Bang! (the podcast and the television show) and a million other projects that she has made all the better by her presence. She is absolutely hilarious and we simply could not have asked for a better guest. You need to hit play and listen to us deconstruct everthing from sex-with-sheep jokes to Ali's test that breaks every single principle of logic known to man. Meanwhile, Ali eats a giant finger-full of ketchup and we are all appropriately disgusted. |
Sun, 12 October 2014
Pretty Little Liars is on hiatus so it is clearly time for another episode of the Movie Club where we talk about movies starring PLL cast members. This week we break down the ABC Family TV movie Teen Spirit starring Lindsey Shaw (aka Paige)! It is October and we wanted to do a scary movie and this one has a teenager being electrocuted to death in front of the whole school who then comes back as a ghost to haunt the school's biggest loser. Scary stuff, right? Meanwhile, as is standard with the Movie Club, we talk about the movie for about fifteen minutes then veer off and talk about other nonsense for over an hour. Fair warning, you guys. We talk as much about Batman vs. Superman and Sons of Anarchy as we do Teen Spirit. And Glee gets a lot of attention for some reason. We also talk about the fall tv line-up because that's why you're here, to know our thoughts on Gotham. We get so far off track that we forget to talk about the movie's big final joke: a second teenage girl gets electrocuted to death! |
Wed, 24 September 2014
Where do we start? The Fatal Finale of the Pretty Little Liars mid-season delivered in every imagineable way so the whole PLP gang unites to break it down! There are Christmas boobs! There is a break in at Radley! Mona is as Mona as ever! Paige's curly hair isn't looking that bad any more! We even learn how the late Mrs. D was quite bed-hopper which leads to a discussion of how Ali and Bethenny are probably sisters or the same person or something. We got a lot to discuss, y'all. Meanwhile, we realize that Ali needs to stop wearing the whole jean jacket and floral dress combo right away. |
Sun, 14 September 2014
We have reached the penultimate episode of the Pretty Little Liars summer season. That means it's time for Melissa's secret! Set up your tripod, get the mood lighting right and let's do this! But we can't handle Melissa's secret alone (literally, we were both very confused) so we enlisted help to conquer the madness! We are joined by the host of The 40 Year Old Boy podcast, the man behind the fantastic stand-up album The Big Angry and a man we can only describe as the Mark Twain of podcasting, ladies and gents, it's Mike Schmidt! He teaches us so many things including how Tanner went to the Columbo school of detectiving. And we wonder why Specer talks to a computer screen so much when she could just call her real life sister. They both have phones. On them. At all times. Seriously, Melissa went to London, not one of Jupiter's moons. Meanwhile, the awesome logo for this episode was done by the wickedly talented David Hernandez. If you want some awesome art of your own you can find him at www.ARTbyDMH.com. Also, be a pal and leave us a good review on iTunes. We will be the Toby to your Spencer except we actually finished high school. |
Wed, 3 September 2014
We are creeping ever closer to the Pretty Little Liars (mid-season) Fatal Finale so to help us get through this dark alley (you guys, it's a double entandre) we had to enlist the help of one half of the Comedy Film Nerds, author, director Chris Mancini! This episode introduces us to Ali's fake kidnapper and teaches that even if you confess to a crime and reveal knowledge of intimate details of said crime the police will still release you from prison within 48 hours. And Spencer is killing it in an avant garde Indiana Jones outfit. She has perhaps never looked better in all of PLL herstory. Meanwhile, the girls send weak link Emily to stand up to Ali on their behalf. Shockingly, it doesn't go well. |
Wed, 27 August 2014
Have we mentioned how much we love Lt. Tanner? She gets precious little screen time each ep but Sweet Fancy Moses does she make it count. LT puts the screws to Aria and her mom about Ezra and his connection to Shana. It is amazing! All that plus Emily is riding a bike for some reason, Jenna and Sydney coordinate theiroutfits, we see glimmers of the old Caleb we love and Emily threatens to drown someone for being nice to a blind girl. Pretty Little Liars is better than ever! Meanwhile, Noel sits in his car, on the busiest street in town, windows down, listening to a super secret recording at full volume. It's awesome. |
Fri, 22 August 2014
You guys, it is going down and it all starts here. For starters, the Pretty Little Liars are all in the choir now! Since when do any of these girls sing? Toby wants to be a cop, Big Rhonda fat jokes keep are plentiful, near death by horse and THE BUCKET INCIDENT! Meanwhile, Aria's mom is still getting married. Do you remember she got engaged last season? Well, she did and we get to spend more time with her finace. And he is handsy. |
Tue, 12 August 2014
Marissa is back to help break down another ep of PLL! And despite the Hannibal reference in the title we don't get to see Mona eat anyone's liver with fava beans and a nice chianti. Sidebar, that is the season of Pretty Little Liars I want to see where Mona goes full Hannibal Lecter and starts cannibalizing those rude little liars. Anyway, what we actually see in this ep is Spencer borrowing Ezra's pervy spy equipment to spy on her sister. Hanna must navigate between the feuding Caleb and Ali. And Emily is put on guard as her mom drops a diabolical bombshell on her: she wants to have Emily's friends over for dinner! Meanwhile, Big Rhonda, you guys. Big. Rhonda. |
Tue, 5 August 2014
Melissa is not here this week (she will be back, fret not!) but in her stead we are happy to have a Guest M! Her name is Marissa and she's awesome so you're in good hands. In this episode of Pretty Little Liars we discuss Ali's runaway plan and how these teenagers have instant access to thousands of dollars of cash in the middle of the night. And Lt. Tanner knows the ladies are lying and is hot on the heels of the PLL girls and is about to bust their whole story wide open. And it took her five seconds. Meanwhile, Spencer wrongfully accuses her dad of being a murderer. Again. |
Sat, 12 July 2014
On this week's Pretty Little Podcasters we review a very special episode of PLL. And by "special" we mean "rapey." And we are not just talking about Aria and Ezra flirting with each other again. There are lotsa allusions to Ali having been raped while "in captivity." She even goes to a pitch dark doctor's office for an exam. Pretty Little Liars is all geared up for episode 100 so let's just get through episode 99 together, you guys. Meanwhile, Becca from AP History is a huge a**hole. Aria should smack her. |
Fri, 11 July 2014
Pretty Little Liars. Episode 100. We made it, you guys. And as with all monumental episodes we had to enlist help from a monumental guest. To help us wade through the insanity, we have the hilarious and uh-mazing host of the Dork Forest podcast, Jackie Kashian! It is a shipper's wet dream as we get some Emison, some Spoby and lots of Ezria. Way too much Ezria, if we're being frank. Anyway, Ali starts the day by going back to school and ends it by getting in a slap fight with Mona in a church. Some stuff happens in between and Jackie is here to break down each gasp-inducing minute as only she can! Meanwhile, Caleb's back! For just three seconds but him and his fabulous new haircut are back! |
